Drew Westen, Ph.D., Founder of Westen Strategies and Co-Founder of Implicit Strategies
Drew Westen, Ph.D. is a clinical, personality, and political psychologist and neuroscientist, and Professor in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry at Emory University, founder of Westen Strategies, a political and corporate consulting firm, and co-founder of Implicit Strategies, an implicit research consulting firm. He formerly taught at the University of Michigan and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Westen is the author of over 150 articles and three books, including The Political Brain: The Role of Emotion in Deciding the Fate of the Nation, which had a substantial influence on the U.S. election of 2008. He frequently comments on political and psychological issues on radio, television, and in print, including appearances on The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, Hardball, Anderson Cooper 360, Good Morning America, the Charlie Rose Show on PBS, and articles in The Washington Post, The New Republic, and the Huffington Post. He has advised a range of candidates and organizations, from presidential and congressional campaigns to major nonprofit organizations and Fortune 500 companies.
