Scott Durand, Vice President, Marketing, Great American Country Television
A 22-year television veteran, Scott Durand has been with Great American Country Television since it’s inception in 1995. He has had various roles in the company including heading up both marketing and programming for the network.
Scott has extensive experience in competitive marketing strategy, brand and content leveraging, licensing, event marketing and sponsor integration. He works with artist tours, fairs and festivals and record labels to reach the passionate country consumer.
Scott also manages a branded rewards website “GAC Superfan” which rewards viewers for watching programming and interacting with GAC sponsors. This site also interacts with other GAC social networking tactics creating an emotional connection with the country music consumer and the network.
Scott began his career as an Addy award-winning local television commercial producer for Racine Telecable in Racine, Wisconsin, before moving into a Promotion Director position at WIFR, a CBS affiliate in Rockford, Illinois, helping them lift the local news product to number-one in the market and helping to launch Rockford’s first morning television product.
In 1990 he left broadcast television to become the regional market manager for Jones Intercable, handling marketing for the Jones Intercable’s Southern Wisconsin division, where he worked before moving to GACTV.
