Sean De Winter

Partner in PwC's Entertainment, Media & Communications Assurance Practice,

As a partner in PwC's Entertainment, Media & Communications Assurance Practice, Sean has a varied experience base to offer his clients.  With 20 years of experience, Sean has extensive experience in assisting companies in connection with initial public offerings and other debt and equity offerings, spin-offs, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.  Sean's career has been focused on publicly registered companies in the US and most recently in the Entertainment and Media sector.

Over the past five years, Sean has worked closely with the Thomson Reuters Corporation and led the Firm's support in their 2009 conversion and adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) and the 2008 acquisition of Reuters Group PLC. Additionally, Sean led the Firm’s efforts in the numerous carve-out audits to facilitate the sale of the Thomson Learning business.

Sean has completed a two year rotation in Santiago, Chile as well as a two year tour in the Firm's SEC Services National office assisting engagement teams in the review and compliance with SEC regulations.  Prior to his tour in the National office, Sean was a Professional Accounting Fellow for the Division of Corporation Finance with the SEC where he reviewed and prepared comment letters for IPO and 1934 Exchange Act filings.

Sean is a member of the Editorial Board for the PricewaterhouseCoopers annual Global Entertainment and Media Outlook. Sean is also a member of the AICPA and a CPA in New York, Connecticut and California.
