John Brown Media picks up three golds at UK's CMA Awards
There were wins for John Lewis Cook Edition, John Lewis Edition and My VIP for Pets at Home at the Content Marketing Awards as John Brown Media took home nine trophies.
John Brown were also given six silver awards – for F&F, Vitality, Virgin’s in-house magazine The Roger Collective, John Lewis Cook Edition and John Lewis HOME magazine – which won two.
In total, John Brown Media took home an incredible nine trophies.
The three gold award winners were as follows:
• Designer of the Year (John Lewis Edition)
• Best Use of Photography (John Lewis Cook Edition)
• Best Consumer Membership (My VIP for Pets at Home)
While these were the six silver award winners:
• Editor of the Year (John Lewis Cook Edition)
• Best Use of Illustration (The Roger Collective)
• Best Finance (Vitality Collection)
• Best Brochure/Catalogue (John Lewis HOME AW15)
• Designer of the Year (John Lewis HOME AW15)
• Best use of Photography (F&F)
Clare Watters, the Creative Director of John Lewis Edition, received high praise from the judges.
“Clare turns a customer magazine into a magazine worthy of the newsstand,” they said. “Her strong mix of editorial and product really elevates the brand and makes the magazine an aspirational experience.”
Sarah Masters’s work with John Lewis HOME also received recognition, with the judges praising the title for its “very confident approach to the brief."
The judges also congratulated the John Lewis and Pets at Home teams.
“This magazine really knows its audience,” enthused the judges of Pets at Home’s My VIP magazine, “and provides them with brilliant, compelling content.”
“It’s a truly remarkable feat to get food to look that perfect,” said the judges of John Lewis Cook Edition. “The magazine is an amazing combination of design and photography.”
F&F Magazine also impressed the judges with its “compelling way of displaying the urban environment."
Overall, it was a fantastic haul for the John Brown team, who received 21 nominations and took home a trophy for almost half of them.

It's great that their hard work has been recognised at the CMA Awards, amongst all the other great content produced by CMA member agencies.”
